Dr. Mazhar Bari
Chief Executive Officer
Mazhar holds a PhD & MPhil in Physics from the University of Cambridge (1996), BSc(HONS) in experimental Physics from University College Dublin (1991), MBA Smurfit School of Business, Dublin (2003). He was the programme manager of a €6M SFI funded research project on Nanoscale Spin Electronics (2001-2006).
His core expertise in technology is in nanomaterials, thin film device fabrication and device physics. Dr. Bari founded SolarPrint in 2008 out of a frustration that traditional 1st and 2nd Generation Photovoltaics have failed to deliver solar technologies to people with the greatest need and best natural resources to adopt solar energy. This failing is largely a cost issue.
Roy Horgan
Business Development Director
(B.Sc Finance & Dip Stockbroker Trading) prior to co founding SolarPrint Roy worked in banking for 6 years where he either led or has been involved in over €2bn of transactions in Ireland, Europe and North America.
Andre Fernon
Chief Financial Officer
(B.A Economics, Master in Management) Andre started his career as a financial analyst within the Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division before joining Apollo Real Estate Advisors, a US private equity firm, where he remained as Vice President until his return to Ireland in 2005. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Fernon was a Director of Crownway Investments, an Irish private equity firm.
He has held interests in a number of start-up ventures including Surplex.com, a German B2B trading company and Abbeywater. He speaks fluent French and German and holds a Master in Management from the ESCP-EAP European School of Management.
