SolarPrint's core ethos is “Necessity versus Luxury” meaning those who can least afford PV technology have the best resources
and the greatest need for it. Dr. Bari’s motivation to specialise in solar technology was derived largely from growing up in Pakistan where he observed that the core issue prohibiting the adoption of widespread solar PV in the developing world came down to one primary factor: cost.
SolarPrint believes it can manufacture its cells at a fraction of the cost of the traditional technologies thus developing power to these developing nations while at the same time providing much needed jobs and exports to the Irish economy.
The principal of SolarPrints technology is to deliver off grid power solutions that are affordable and thus allowing communities in the developing world generate enough power to cover or supplement their daily demand for energy.
